Overview

Skills That Create Real Opportunities

Unemployment and underemployment among youth — especially from SC/ST and minority communities — remains one of the most persistent development challenges in Eastern India. BITAN works with NSDC, state skill missions, and corporate partners to deliver accredited vocational training and certification programmes directly linked to employment.

Our livelihood work goes beyond training: we provide post-placement support, connect graduates with employers, and help informal workers formalise their livelihoods through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) framework — often changing their lives without requiring them to leave their current work.

What We Do

  • Vocational training in job roles: Beauty & Wellness, Retail, IT-ITeS, Construction
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) certification for informal sector workers
  • Industry linkages and job placement drives (campus recruitment)
  • Entrepreneur support — micro-enterprise formation and credit linkages
  • NRLM / SHG capacity building for women's self-help groups
  • Financial literacy and digital payments training
  • Post-placement support — mentoring graduates in first 6 months of employment
