Overview

Safe Spaces, Strong Futures

Adolescence is a critical window for change. BITAN's youth programmes create structured spaces — Kishori clubs, adolescent forums, and peer-education networks — where young people can develop essential life skills, discuss gender and rights, and access information that shapes healthier futures.

Our work focuses especially on girls from marginalised communities who face overlapping vulnerabilities: early marriage, school dropout, and limited access to information. By investing in adolescent girls today, we break cycles of inequality for the next generation.

What We Do

  • Kishori Clubs — weekly peer groups for adolescent girls (grades 6–10)
  • Life Skills Education (LSE) curriculum delivery in schools and communities
  • Gender equality and rights sessions for boys and young men
  • Child marriage prevention — community mobilisation and legal referrals
  • Career counselling and scholarship linkages for first-generation learners
  • Youth leadership training — district-level adolescent forums
  • Menstrual health and hygiene management (MHM) workshops
